Hope Springs Eternal

I have the potty chair, and a stack of board books set up neatly in the downstairs bathroom. She said poopy to me yesterday while pulling at her clean diaper!!! She doesn't even turn two for another few weeks. PROD-I-GEE!!

The reality? That chair will hold a thick layer of dust before it will EVER see it's first deposit.

We will attend our church's monthly praise night tomorrow evening. It's an hour long event that is designed to allow our entire church body, including parents and children, to worship God together. So, after a beautiful and enlightening discussion at home with our children on the values of worshiping God, they will sit next to me singing loudly, lost in the grace our Lord bestows upon us.

The reality? With Ben leading up on the stage, I've lost 50% of our family's crowd control. So if our past performance is any indication, Posh Spice will run around playing tag, and Baby Spice will make 3 attempts to climb up onto the stage to be with her daddy. I will sing approximately 5 lines total (not all in one song mind you), yet God will still LOVE IT, because like the widow and her two mites, it's all I've got to give.

My mother and sister in-law in-love are coming later this week for the final leg of my MIL's US tour before she heads back home to the mission field. :-( I've got piles of laundry, dirty bathrooms, a messy kitchen and stained carpets that I'm just sure I can get all taken care of today.

The reality? I'm sitting her blogging ... WHAT DO YOU THINK???

She's got, high hopes!
She's got, high hopes!
She's got, high apple pie in the sky hopes!

I'd say "good luck..." but maybe it should be more like, may God bless you in all your efforts... and I hear ya. At least you've got hope!

Well, you know your MIL and SIL will extend all the grace needed to cover a not so neat home, so that's taken care of right off.

Baby and the potty - there will be no poop before it's time. 'Nuff said.

As for the worship service, God will extend grace as needed there, so what're you worried about?

I will offer my sympathies and say "Good Luck" on all accounts, though. ;D

I loved the phrase "50% of the crowd control"...isn't that the truth!

Ok, on the potty thing. I'm in the midst of all of that too. We're half there, but she won't poo in the potty. I caught her squatting on the floor the other day--just as she was about to put her pullup on--doing the deed on the floor.

We're never gonna get our deposit back. =)

Good luck with the crowd control tonight! And thanks for the reminder that even when kids are being kids and screaming, playing through worship dividing our attention that God still loves it.

Reading anything you write, so honest, just does my heart good. It's a blessing to me, too bad you're slugging it out in the middle of it all. Your MIL wont care about any of that stuff anyway, just love on her and it'll all be good.

I only have one girl and she keeps me on my toes... you give me hope and proof that I am "normal" (??!!) after all. Love ya girl!

I love the 'mother-in-love' change in title. I have a missionary friend who calls her son's wives 'daughters in grace' because we are no longer under the LAW but under GRACE.

Just thought I'd leave a comment and tell you how much I have enjoyed your blog today. Thanks for sharing!
