I'm Not Deaf, I'm Just Ignoring You
In order to get Beta Blogger I had to get a gmail account. So my friend Keelie invited me, and I jumped in. At first I didn't use it at all, but then I thought, why not put it on my blog to kind of keep it separate from my other e-mail. I'm not sure why I thought this was a good idea, but it certainly did the trick. It was separate from my regular e-mail account. So separate in fact that I haven't even looked at it for months. Just tonight, something made me think to check it and lo and behold!!! I've only just begun digging through the e-mails, so if you've sent me anything over the last couple of months and wondered why I was ignoring you, now you know.
Judging from my quick perusal so far,
Jeana, I have no idea what you're talking about, your site feed looks just fine to me. (even if your question was over 60 days old)
Suzie, Oo thanks for the link! I'll have to go check out the leopard print ones! (aren't y'all just dying to know what I'm referring to there!)
Shalee, I see one in there with your name and the word coffee. You? Like coffee? Really?!? Well, we should get together sometime! ;-)
The rest of you, I promise I'll get back to you real quick! Robin, I think I need your help getting gmail to work for me!
6 talkin' back:
Thanks for reminding me that I have a Outlook Express email account I need to check. I only think about it every couple of months or so and I'm due.
Glad you're back, for however long it lasts. ;-)
OK, apparently I should have added a tutorial to that invite!
Log in to GMail. Up in the right hand corner, it'll say Settings. Click that.
Under the General tab, you can get a Google Notifier that'll put an alert right on your desktop when you get an email.
Or under the Forwarding tab, you can send all your Gmail messages to whatever email program you actually use. Kinda defeats the "keep it separate" thing, but it does keep your personal email addy private.
HTH
Keelie
I'm there for you sista! We'll get it all working. And, if you just switch to gmail entirely, you'll wonder why you didn't waaaaaaay sooner.
OK, I now have a notifier, thanks Keelie! And I think I've responded to all of the necessary e-mails. I hope......
Robin, I know you've said that before too, and I'm sure I'll see. I just HATE sending out that e-mail to the entire address book and saying "my e-mail has changed" ah well, it's inevitable I guess.
Coffee, yes! Let's get ourselves together so we can talk about all these other bloggers... Kidding, folks! Kidding... well sort of...
I'm not even sure what gmail. Sounds like you have a lot of replies to make though :-)
